Chic’n Scratch 3D Creative Contest


Angie Kennedy Juda of Chic’n Scratch is having a 3D creative contest  going on at her blog that will give you a chance to win $75 in Stampin' Up! merchandise.


Here are the details:
  1. You can enter a 3D item or a Fabric item (Stampin’ Up!  product only).
  2. Send your projects to : Angie Kennedy Juda, 3D Creative Contest, 14127 Parkhill Street, Overland Park, KS 66221. You'll probably want to send them Priority Mail.
  3. Project must be current Stampin' Up! product only (non SU product will not be entered into the contest). 
  4. Deadline for projects is August 18th. (no exceptions)
  5. The winner will be determined by a panel of demos & friend. (Comments posted on my blog will help but the final decision will be made by a panel of my friends).  
  6. Each day I'll post the projects and the voting begins.  One vote per person per project (you are welcome to vote for as many projects as you'd like but only one comment per project).
  7. The person with the most comments will very likely win but I have a group of demos helping me so that everything remains fair.
  8. The winner's name will be announced when I'm able to work again and after I've had a chance to view the comments and discuss it with the ladies helping me (mid September).
  9. Stampin' Up! Demonstrators may enter to win (team members ..please feel free to enter!!).
  10. US entries only (we're not allowed to send Stampin' Up!product out of the US).
  11. The winner will get their choice of $75 of product out of the Stampin' Up! catalog.

p.s. Please don't forget the project must be in Angie’s hands by Aug. 18th ...if you use Priority Mail they will get to Angie in three days or less.

National S’mores Day

In honor of National S’mores Day, I bring you two terrific recipes to try out with the kids and a few paper crafting lines to scrapbook your campfire memories.

Golden Grahams S'mores Bars (from Cooks.com)


Ingredients:

3/4 cup light corn syrup
3 tbsp butter
1 package (2 cups) chocolate chips
3 cups mini marshmallows
1 tsp vanilla
1 box Golden Grahams cereal

Directions:
  1. Grease a 13 x 9 inch pan and set aside.
  2. Over medium heat, heat syrup, butter, and chocolate chips, stirring constantly until chocolate chips are melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  3. Place cereal in a large bowl. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal and mix until completely coated. Fold in marshmallows, 1 cup at a time.
  4. Press into pan and let sit 1 hour (refrigerate if desired).


Magic S’Mores Bars from Sophistimom.com


Ingredients:

10 ounces graham crackers (18 whole crackers, or two cellophane wrapped stacks)
1 ½ sticks unsalted butter, melted
1 pinch of kosher salt
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups mini marshmallows

Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (180 degrees Celsius).
  2. In a large resealable bag (or in a food processor), smash graham crackers until finely ground.
  3. Stir in melted butter and salt. Press into a 13×9 pan.  
  4. Bake for 5 minutes.  Remove from oven.
  5. Sprinkle on chocolate chips. Drizzle can of condensed milk over graham crackers; follow with marshmallows.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes more, until marshmallows are lightly browned.  Let cool completely.
