Peanut butter Valentine cookies

Peanut Butter Valentine Cookies

I adore peanut butter cookies especially the ones that have a Hershey’s Kiss pressed in the middle. However, I discovered that I didn’t have all the ingredients needed in my pantry and my Hershey’s Kisses are nowhere to be found.
Call me lazy! I did not want to bundle myself up and trudge through the cold to go to the store, so instead I did the next best thing. No, I didn’t bother the neighbor or call my mom, instead I did a quick search over the Internet with the ingredients I had on hand and discovered these yummy 3 (4 if you add the chocolate) ingredient cookies.
Simple to make and delicious to eat, these classic peanut butter cookies can be frozen to keep and then thawed at room temperature for a tasty treat any time.

Pairing wine and chocolate for Valentine’s Day

Pairing Wine and Chocolate

This Valentine’s Day instead of buying a heart shaped box of chocolate and bottle of generic wine, consider pairing a fine selection of chocolates from Fannie May with the perfect wine selection to impress your sweetheart.
Some say it can’t be done, pairing wine with chocolate however they are natural companions. Both have complex flavors and notes, both have similar components and nuances in common. If you have the right wine to complement the right chocolate it can be a match made in heaven!

Chocolate chip cheesecake with Oreo crust

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake with Oreo Crust

Growing up, the cookie of choice in our house were Oreos. There was nothing better than a few cookies, broken apart, and then dunked in ice cold milk for an evening snack after homework.
When I recently ran across this recipe for Chocolate Chip Cheesecake with Oreo Crust, I knew I found a perfect dessert to make for Valentine’s Day. What could be better than the creaminess of cheesecake, the crunchy goodness of Oreos, and the sweet taste of chocolate rolled into one delicious dessert.

Cherry chip cupcakes

Cherry Chip Cupcakes

In less than 2 weeks is Valentine’s Day and in my household it also is the birthday of both parents. Every year we get together with my parents, sister, brother-in-law, and niece to celebrate both events.
The tradition is to go out to dinner at the place of dad’s choice and then everyone comes over to my house for cake.  The birthday cake is always a bakery bought decadent cake with lots of flowers, chocolate, and a fruit filling.
This year as a special surprise, I plan on making Cherry Chip cupcakes which my niece can pass out leftovers to her neighborhood friends with their Valentine cards. What I love best about this cupcake recipe is that all the ingredients are from scratch and it uses maraschino cherries and their juice.
