Tuesday Morning Sketches

Tuesday Morning Sketches posted a really fun challenge this week. We had to create a card using the following sketch:I pulled out my new turtle stamp from DRS Designs and knew that I wanted to turn him into a birthday turtle. This card is going to a co-worker who collects turtles.

I think she is going to love this card. What do you think?

Lili of the Valley Challenge

This week Lili of the Valley Challenge blog posted a challenge with the theme of animal. The challenge was to use an animal somewhere on your card or paper creation. As soon as I saw this challenge, I new I had to use one of my new DRS Desisgn stamps.

Isn't this elephant adorable?! I had fun coloring her and adding a sign with a toothpick that I stuck behind her trunk with a pop dot.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

July seems to be a big birthday month for my friends and co-workers, so the Papertake Weekly Challenge couldn't have come at a better time. Using this week's challenge sketch, I created a really cute birthday card for a friend. The sparkles on the card are from using Stickles and the shimmer is from using Shimmerz.

Sorry the picture isn't the greatest! I know I need to take a photography class to learn the right settings especially for the flash.

Mojo Monday #95

Mojo Monday did it again! They had a fun challenge that I just had to participate in. Using my Anya Teacher stamp from The Greeting Farm and some fun pattern paper, I created a cute first day of school card for my niece.
Isn't she just the cutest stamp?

Simple Card

This past week has been a blurr with all the painting I did around the house along with cleaning up the yard. I did manage to make a card for a challenge, but lost all the details on which challenge I was doing it for (LOL). Any way, I thought why not post it and show it off. It was so simple... all I used was a Stampin' Up flower stamp and 2 different circle punches.

I left it without a sentiment as it can be used as a thank you card, thinking of your card, or just a simple hi card to someone who needs a pick me up.

Lasting Impressions

A few months ago my friend Heather and I took a Lasting Impressions class at Thanks for the Memories in Lake Zurich. We had a lot of fun making cards, laughing with all the ladies, and trying out embossing using templates.

If you get the opportunity, I would highly recommend taking a Lasting Impressions class at your local scrapbook store. Also, if you are ever in Northern Illinois drop by TFTM and say hi to the owner Sue.

The pre-order for the Kit is open until August 7th. It includes 5 brand new, never before seen, main character stamps, 3 large accessory stamps, designed by Elisabeth Bell and 6 text stamps, designed by Katharina (in English).

Now for Katharina's blog candy. She is offering 2 Fall stamp kits. All you have to do is go to her blog, download the Whiff of Joy blinkie to your blog & link it to the Whiff of Joy website, make a post in your own blog letting your friends know about her blog candy, and posting on Katharina's blog using Mr. Blinky.

Good Luck and thank you Katharina for the opportunity of winning this fantastic blog candy.

Where's Sue?

Sorry for being MIA the last few days. I took vacation time from work and while I didn't go anywhere, my parents came by and helped me paint & repair my deck and wooden shed. After putting in a few hard days of labor, I couldn't lift my arms to even try and stamp. I promise to be back and in full swing starting tomorrow.

Happy Saturday!

Sketch Saturday Challenge

This week at Sketch Saturday was another great sketch challenge.

Earlier in the week I download this really adorable digi stamp that reminded me of my niece. As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew it would work perfectly to create a darling card. My niece's favorite color is purple, so I decided to color the digi stamp with shades of purple and lavendar. The Imaginisce paper coordinated perfectly.

I just love how this card turned out.

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches they posted a sketch that would work great for all those scraps of paper that you just can't throw away.

I knew I wanted to make a card using the left over scraps of purple and yellow papers I had, but not until this sketch came out did I know what I was going to do. I didn't have any coordinating pattern paper, so I took some purple ink and a QuicKutz stamp and stamped it all over a white piece of card stock.

I think this turned out really cute. What do you think?

By the Sea

Flourishes posted a fun challenge over the past weekend. The challenge is to incorporate the "feel" of the sea in a creation. It could be with a fun embellishment, a photo, or even a color theme.

When I thought of sea, the first thing that came to mind was water. Well what lives in or near the water besides fish, turtles, and frog... a mermaid of course.

I took out all of my Stickles and had fun adding sparkle to her fin, hair, and the flowers in the background pattern paper. Isn't she cute?

Oodabug Alley Challenge

This week's challenge at Oodabug Alley was to take the following fantastic sketch and create a card.

I just purchased a few new Color Box Chalk inks in Lime and Blue that I wanted to try out. After going through my paper stash I found some coordinating pattern paper and was able to create this card using Stampin' Up stamps & some gems.

I am going to give it to a co-worker that has been going through a rough time. I think she needs a pick me up to know that all the hard work and struggles she is experiencing will eventually help her achieve her career goals.

Birthday Card

Nikki at Smells Like Homemade celebrated her birthday yesterday and asked everyone to make a birthday card. I used the challenge posted at Prairie Paper and Ink to create this cute card.

Hope you had a wonderful birthday Nikki!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge 11

I absolutely loved the colors for this week's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge and knew I had to do the challenge.

After going through all of my papers, I found the most perfect pattern paper from DCWV. The problem is that I didn't want to cover it up with an image since it was so pretty. Outcame my buttons, charms, ribbons, and glitter. This time I even remember to take some close ups so you can see all the sparkles.

So, what do you think?

Jacksonbelle Embellishments Challenge

This week at Jacksonbelle Embellishments was a challenge to make a card using the following sketch.

My sister and her husband's anniversary is coming up, so I decided to use the challenge sketch to make them a card. The card looks soo much better in person. You really can't see the sparkles from the Stickles on the hearts. Guess I need to take a photography class to learn how to take better pictures and how to use my digital camera.

I still think it turned out really cute! What do you think?

Paper Take Weekly Challenge

After seeing this week's challenge over at Paper Take Weekly I knew that I had to use the stamped frog that my friend Heather gave me.

I wanted to add googlie eyes to the frog but couldn't find any in my stash (they must be buried somewhere). Instead I took two tiny green buttons and added aqua/green Stickles to the center. I think this card turned out great and am really liking the color combo. Will have to try that again!

TCPTUES65

Every week at The Cats Pajamas the Design Team posts a new challenge. This weeks challenge was to create a card using the following colors and posting to the I Heart 2 Stamp blog.

I knew that I didn't have any pattern paper with just those three colors, so I decided to create my own and add some butterflies.

The picture doesn't show it very well, but the butterflies have sparkles from colored Stickles. What do you think?

The Next Level - Challenge 5

This week at The Next Level our challenge was to use the following sketch to create a card.

I still had some paper left over from a patriotic challenge and decided to incorporate it on my card.

I think this turned out pretty cute. I love the little kitty!

Whimsy Stamps - Challenge 8

Whimsy Stamps posted a color challenge this week to use the color combo of red, orange, and yellow. I don't really use much orange on my pages or cards, so this challenge was a little difficult. Let's just say my crafting room is a mess since I went through several paper bins looking for something in the orange family. I took the liberty of using cherry red, peachy orange, and mustard yellow to complete the challenge.

The card didn't turn out too bad! What do you think?

2 Sketches 4 You - sketch 29

2 Sketches 4 You posted a sketch challenge (#29) this week.

I liked the sketch so much that I ended up making two cards using the same cute mouse stamp from Whiff of Joy.

Isn't the mouse just adorable? Can't wait to make more cards using it.
