January is National Oatmeal Month. When I think of oatmeal, two things come to mind. The first, hot oatmeal cereal dusted with powder sugar being served on cold Midwestern mornings before walking through the snow to school. The second is fresh oatmeal cookies still warm from the oven baked with loving care by my mom.
