Crafting Examiner Roundup for January 9, 2012

Looking for a few new places to shop for crafts in Illinois, interested in taking a few classes, or trying your hand at a new project? Then come check out this week’s craft roundup from the Arts& Crafts Examiner and the PaperCrafting Examiner.

Warm Up Lake Zurich was launched last fall at the Ela Area Public Library and organized by employee Laura Cloud as a community project/program for local knitters.

I'd Rather BeKnitting Yarn Studio was founded in 2003, by Linda Goone. Her mission is to continually strive for a friendly, welcoming community where one can shop for the finest yarns and knitting accessories, while enjoying a warm, inviting atmosphere.

These molded bird seed ornaments are a lot of fun to make, and very inexpensive. You may already have all the materials you need in your home - we were able to make gifts for all the wonderful friends in our life for around $3.

The Cultured Purlsof McHenry County are a fun and friendly group of knitters in Northern Illinois meeting together to share ideas , the love of knitting, and to spread knitting in the community.

Crafting Examiner Roundup: January 2, 2012

Last week  was a busy one for me on my Arts and Craft Examiner article website. With the Christmas holiday coming to a close and the New Year in the near future, last week’s articles included quick homemade gifts, ideas for recycling Christmas cards, and tips for holiday storage.

Make your own homemade scented room spray for gift giving!

A perfect gift for those with extremely dry skin that need a pick me up during the cold winter months.

Bath fizzies (a.k.a. bath bombs) are a fun project to make at home and a fun gift to receive.  They can be a frugal addition to a spa gift basket or creatively packaged, they’re a great gift idea just by themselves.

Recycle your Christmas cards in fun holiday crafts to give next year.

Now that the holidays are over, it is time to take down the holiday decorates and store them safe and sound for next year.

Gather the kids and take a few moments to create these adorable candy cane mice that can be placed on the tree, given as party favors, or used as package toppers.

Easy to make Christmas trees using cardboard, pattern paper, and glue.
